I’d like to nominate a community legend, Rob Illife, whose photos I have attached. Rob has been the driving force behind The Urban Sketchers Southampton group, which has been going for a few good years. They meet once a month in different settings in Southampton and beyond, and they sketch the landscape.​

​Rob worked for many years for Community Playlink in Southampton, supporting families through play and toy libraries. This gave him the opportunity to use his puppetry skills to delight children of all ages and adults as well. He has been delighting online audiences with his ‘theatre in a bag’ performances, mostly set in his own back garden.​

​He is also one of the performers in the Mummers Play, held every year on the first Sunday in January in St Michael’s Square, to celebrate the new year.
