Who’s Your Community Legend? Nominate Them for City Reflections 2025!

Do you know someone in Southampton who makes a difference, big or small? Someone who brightens the lives of those around them? Whether they’re a local hero, a friendly neighbour, or a quiet force for good, we want to celebrate them! This is your chance to honour the people who make Southampton’s diverse communities unique and vibrant.

City Reflections: Lighting Up Southampton with Your Stories

From 15th to 24th February 2025, Southampton will be illuminated by City Reflections, a spectacular light trail event at the Western Esplanade near Westquay and other locations across the city. As part of this event, we’re looking to feature the real stars of our city – your community legends! These are the people who may not seek the spotlight, but whose efforts light up our lives.

If your nominee consents, they could be celebrated as part of a series of stunning creative light installations, each telling the story of a remarkable individual who in their own different ways make the spirit of Southampton.

Southampton is a city of rich cultural diversity, where countless unsung heroes are making a positive impact in communities and the city. From the person who always has a smile and a helping hand, to the organiser of community events, to someone who makes others feel welcome – every act of kindness and service counts.

This campaign is about recognising the everyday legends who make a real impact, no matter how big or small. By nominating someone, you’re helping to shine a light on the people and stories that make our city special.

How to Nominate Your Legend

It’s simple! Just tell us who your community legend is and why they should be featured. We welcome nominations that reflect the full diversity of Southampton’s communities. Whether they’re from your neighbourhood, your workplace, your school, or your local community group, if they’re making a difference, we want to hear about it!
